our daily bread for OWH

The challenge at OWH for Our Daily Bread is to focus on the sentiment. This is a sticker I purchased while visiting San Francisco years ago. We stopped at the sticker factory, name is escaping me at the moment but it is the one with the red heart as their symbol! I thought it would be fun to mat it with various colours, I think it works. Again, sorry for poor photos, still no money for a camera sadly!

OWH Throwdown Part two

Here is the second card that I created today. It uses a Stampin Up set called "Pretty Princess". I coloured it with Copic makers, cut it out with Spellbinders dies. I think a little girl would enjoy this card. (Notes for me: card coloured with the following markers Skin E00, Cheeks E01, Dress RV000 wit RV02 overlay, Dots RV14, center Y000 several layers, leaves YG23, flowers RV14, Hair E15, Stick E35, ribbon and heart R14). Strangely I have lost a second OWH stamp for the back. I'm going to have to blame my cat. She loves things like that. Of course, had I put it in the drawer it would still be there and not left on the table!

Again, purple is just the weird back drop. I'm hoping that Santa buys me  camera for Christmas!!

OWH Mid week throw down Kids cards part one

Okay, trying agin since I lost the last post. Today's throw down is create cards for kids. I created two here is the first one.
This card uses Stampin Up "Just Soccer". It also uses some Disney sports paper. Thought a little boy would enjoy receiving this card in the mail. (The purple is just what I had put it on to show up in the photo. I still don't have a camera and am relying on a pitiful phone camera.)

OWH Midweek Throwdown

I have so many supplies that I have been feeling like I need to use them more and find a way to reach out to others who can use a pick me up. I discovered Operation Write Home through Splitcoast stampers. It felt right to join them in sharing some of my creations, as humble as they are compared to many, so that service men and women can write home and stay connected with friends and loved ones. I am a Navy brat. I was born at Otis Air Force Base while my dad was attending OCS. Many of my relatives have served their countries, some giving all, in the name of freedom. My forefathers even fought against Britain in the Revolutionary War. For these reasons and many more, this just feels right.

I have been reading the blog and website for Operation Write Home the past few nights when I couldn't sleep. I even signed up via Facebook last night. This morning a midweek challenge was issued for Clean and Simple cards. I just purchased a stamp that says "You hold the key to my heart" from our new Hobby Lobby store and knew just what I wanted to do with it.

I hope that it will bring joy to a loved one who is missing their special someone.

Note: my camera is deceased and I need to purchase a new one. I apologize for the poor quality of the photo. It is from my phone.

Scrsc106

I haven't felt up to crafting lately; too much pain so can't sit at my table. But I needed two cards right away. I found two images that I had previously coloured (Relaxing Charlotte and Nurse Lucy) and knew I could put them to good use. Popped over to the Sparkle Creation blog for a sketch idea, took a few minutes to gather supplies and assemble. Now I'm ready with a birthday card and a nursing school graduation. If you like the stamps pop on over to the store and check the awesome stamps out. There are many different characters doing lots of great activities that are great to colour with Copic markers.
